Spring, Yeah right
Woke up this morning to 15cm/5inches of new snow and got to plow snow all morning. As i was just finished I heard the call of a Red-winged Blackbird, my first of the year. There were 2 high in a spruce tree near our house. This is just about 1 week later than the average time for returning here.
We added up all the snowfalls i have recorded this year and it totals 190cm which is very close to 6 feet of snow. I missed recording many snowfalls due to being out of town or just plain forgetting. so I am sure we are over 2 meters of snow this year.
On a trip to Prince George today we saw many Bald Eagles Ravens and Crows on the move but we are at least a couple of weeks from seeing any other spring birds

Brrr......I put in my vegetable garden yesterday. We have robins, cardinals in the area now that weren't here just two weeks ago. Home your Spring thaw is just around the corner.
ReplyDeleteOnly a week left and you will be down in rainy Redmond! It always warmed up in Fort on Spring Break so hopefully you will come back to mud.. well wait that doesn't sound too appealing either.
ReplyDeletewell there is the flooded driveway to look forward to
